This comes after Elizabeth compared her locking experience to an episode of The Waltons after spending time with her family at her £ 6m villa.

She spent 16 weeks hidden on the Herefordshire estate in a group of nine people, including Kate’s older sister, son Damian (18), mother Angela (80) and vulnerable friends.

Appearing in the Lorraine episode, Liz told host Christine Lampard who was standing in the house, ‘It was like The Waltons! We had nine of us, but I’m the only one who went in 16 weeks to make a brief raid on stores. ‘

Elizabeth revealed that her household had returned things to the basics of locking, much like The Waltons, explaining, ‘We were all left safe, and then we just had to go in and find a way to make it work.

‘There was physical labor, TV banned until 18:00. We were all outside – the weather was nice in the UK – we swept, cut, attacked things with a chainsaw, made the exterior beautiful, growing vegetables … We all became healthier. We ate quite a bit, but there was also physical work! ‘

Liz added: ‘We were very nervous about health, there were older women and friends with low immunity who needed to be guarded. We were nervous and scared all the time ‘.
