Earlier in the pandemic, after people recovered from COVID-19, they believed they were relieved of all the symptoms they had experienced. However, over time, long-term COVID has become a common problem among patients after recovery. Long-term symptoms have a great impact not only on people’s physical health, but also on their mental well-being.
According to a survey by the UK’s Office for National Statistics, which involved around 20,000 people, one in five survivors reported symptoms after five and 12 weeks.
In addition, a team of British researchers studying long-term symptoms in patients with COVID-19 found that for a long time, Covid was almost twice as likely to affect women than men.
