The Department of Civil Service (DSS) has uncovered a conspiracy by some suspected criminals to bomb selected public places in the country during the yuletide period.
In a statement issued by DSS spokesman Peter Afunanya on Tuesday, the secret service called on Nigerians to be extra vigilant, adding that strange movements and suspicions should be reported to the relevant security agencies.
“The Department of Civil Service (DSS) wishes to inform the public of the plans of some criminal elements to carry out violent attacks on public places, including key and vulnerable points during the yuletide season,” the statement said in part.
“Planned heinous acts should be committed using explosives, suicide bombs and other dangerous weapons.”
A DSS spokesman explained that the goal of the criminals was to create a general sense of fear among the people and then undermine the federal government.

The Department of Civil Service (DSS) wants to inform the public about the plans of some criminal elements to carry out violent attacks in public places, including key and vulnerable points during the yuletide season.
Planned heinous acts should be committed using explosives, suicide bombs and other dangerous weapons.
The goal is to create a general sense of fear among the people and subsequently undermine the government.
In that sense, citizens are calling for extra vigilance and reporting unusual movements and indeed all the doubts around them to security and law enforcement agencies.
For its part, the Service cooperates with other sister agencies to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to protect life and property.
To further achieve this purpose, the Service provided these emergency numbers 08132222105 and 09030002189 for emergency contacts. He also uses this opportunity to discover his interactive website www.dss.gov.ng for public communication support.
Everyone is encouraged to use these platforms and similar platforms provided by related agencies in order to arrive on time and use the necessary information (security agencies).
However, the Service advises those who plan to cause chaos and damage to public peace to give up on such, as they will stop at nothing to arrest and bring to justice.
While providing security to citizens and residents during and after the holiday periods, DGSS, Alhaji YM. Bichi fwc, with its management and staff, wishes everyone happy celebrations and a prosperous 2021 year.
