The state PDP chairman, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, who warned the party’s state secretariat in Awka while welcoming an aspirant of the governor Mr. Wilson Ude, said the campaign for the PDP candidate would begin fully in the acquaintance of the party carrier.
He said: “Right now, we should see all aspirants as people who have expressed interest in governing the state by 2022, even if such aspirations are our relationships”
He frowned at a situation in which some party officials accompanied the aspirants during their consultations, adding that such a thing could be misinterpreted.
He also reminded the party seeking resolution that all aspirations should be to support the person who emerged as the PDP candidate to ensure the party’s success during the election, fearing that it was a lack of such support that caused the collapse of the PDP in the last election.
Addressing party officials, Ude, who hails from Ndiowu in the Orumba North local government area of the Anambra South senatorial zone said the PDP was the answer to the Anambra problems.
He said: “I do not promise to build 21 universities or build all the roads in the state, but I will make the people of Anambra happy if I become governor. There must be a rule of law in this state and I must stop human rights abuses.
“Our goal is to put smiles on the faces of our people through work. I also ask our people to know how to value each other to enable everyone to contribute their quota towards the development of state.
“If our citizens are taking over other parts of the country, there is no reason why we cannot develop our state.”
