Dillian Whyte stared at Alexander Povetkin and then insisted that the Russian “knows” that he is facing a more formidable opponent in their rematch.
The British heavyweight candidate shared an icy clash with Povetkin after the final press conference for Saturday’s rematch in Gibraltar, live on Sky Sports box office.
Whyte will try to avenge his shocking knockout defeat last summer and believes the former Russian WBA champion expects a more punishable match.
“He’s pretty relaxed, he tries not to show a lot of emotion, but I see,” Whyte said Sky Sports. “We are fighters, we know. We have shared the ring before.
“He knows. He says he knows I’m going to be a lot better this time. We’ll see.
“I’ve been fighting the best guys for the last six years. It’s like a dice game. You roll the dice, you don’t know what number they’re going to land on.
“If you fight with the good guys, back-to-back, you’ll be knocked down and you’ll lose. It’s just what it is.
“The main thing is that I’ll bounce back. I don’t let these things bother me or bother me too much. I’ve always been a warrior.”
