The federal government clarified that no new blockade was declared in Nigeria despite confirmation of the second wave of COVID-19.
Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed gave this clarification, reports the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The minister explained that the guidelines and position of the Presidential Working Group (PTF) on coronavirus at Monday’s briefing did not translate into partial or complete locking as reported
According to him, the government has only taken precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the civil service and at public gatherings. “
“The federal government has not announced a new lock.
“What we did was simply repeat the old protocols and ask federal workers at level 12 and below to stay at home and they will continue to receive salaries.
“Therefore, there is no new lock and there is no question of difficulties and economic collapse,” Mohammed added.
