COVID-19: Punjab records 17 more deaths, 373 new cases: The Tribune India

Chandigarh, 24 December

The number of Punjab deaths due to COVID-19 rose to 5,260 on Thursday, as the state recorded another 17 deaths, while the number of deaths rose to 1,64,505 with 373 fresh infections, according to a medical bulletin.

There are 4,812 active cases in the country, the bulletin said.

Mohali reported 75 new cases, among others, Jalandhar 57 and Pathankot 41.

A total of 469 coronavirus patients were discharged after recovering from the infection, bringing the number of cured to 1.54,433, according to the bulletin.

Twelve critical patients are on the ventilator, while 96 are on oxygen, it is stated.

So far, 37,62,120 samples have been collected for testing in the state, it is stated. PTI
