Leanne trying to end it all?

coronation street leanne battersby

Overwhelmed with grief, Leanne does not sleep and lives in poverty, to the great horror of Dr. Gaddas (Christine Mackie) who is extremely worried when she visits her patient after calling for surgery looking for sleeping pills. Admitting that she lied to her family that she had gone to France for Christmas, but had been home alone on the sofa ever since, Lee was relieved when the doctor relaxed her.

Taking some pills in hopes of being able to rest, Leanne soon sparks. When Simon calls the apartment to pick up clothes for a hot date with Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson), he is stunned that his mom is still in the country, and then fears that she has taken her own life while he puts the jar of pills on the table. Moving out of her sleep, Leanne convinces her son that she has only taken a few pills and did not intend to finish it all. Si promises to take care of her while she breaks down, but it’s a long way for the grieving blonde.

Evil Ray is the winner

coronation street ray crosby

How we all cheered when Roy Cropper (David Neilson) rushed to stop the demolition of the brewery armed with a temporary council order to stop and give up – ‘temporarily’ is the operative word because this week Ray the bastard manages to get his heartless development approved.

As residents panic about becoming homeless, as Ray re-reserves the bulldozers and points out that it’s too late to withdraw from the sale, Abi smells rats. Ray bribed the head of the planning committee (of course he did), but how can Abs prove it? Erin Brockovich of Weatherfield grabbed his trusty speaker and staged another protest. Ray, however, remains a step ahead …

Michael will be the father – really

Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) thought his childhood dream was over when it turned out that his ex-girlfriend Grace Vickers (Kate Spencer) had lied to him for years, and their ‘daughter’ Tianna was someone else’s child. She has now come out of prison and insisting that she is pregnant with his real child, Michael is understandably suspicious of her claims.

The paternity test confirms that Grace is telling the truth this time, and Mikey is so desperate to become a dad that he agrees to raise the bug together as co-parents. Anxious, Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw) begs her son to throw the shadowy Grace out of the picture and go into unique custody – Michael is such a nice guy, but a bit without a spine, so which of the overbearing women will he obey in his life?

Johnny in jail?

coronation street Johnny Connor

It’s time for Johnny to face the music as verdicts for his historical crimes emerge. Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) sticks to that manic smile and leaks the wrong optimism, and when her male’s eyesight deteriorates, she begs the court to postpone the hearing for health reasons.

Unfortunately, that’s not enough, and Johnny is soon on the dock waiting to hear his fate. Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) shows the judge how much his client regrets – didn’t he stop him from keeping quiet about leaving him dead for 40 years, right? Get up, Johnny, after his stormy attack that Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) dropped from the attempted murder charge, in your corner you have Weatherfield’s response to Perry Mason.

  • Although 2020 was hardly a picnic at the red recreational tournament for any of us, the 2021 Gary Windass (Mikey North) who finds himself in a prison cell didn’t get off to the best start. He had been under police suspicion before and managed to dodge, but this time there may be no way out for a bad boy …
  • Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) leaves Arthur Medwin (Paul Copley) with a flea in his ear when he sees him on the street with a bunch of flowers, only it turns out that his wife Beryl has passed away and they are at her funeral. Oops. Arthur then asks the corrupt Evelyn to move with him to Canada for a fresh start – will this be an offer that Ms. Plummer cannot refuse?
