The start and end dates of the 2021/22 Premier League have been confirmed.
Chelsea will start the campaign for the 2021/22 Premier League for the weekend of August 14, 2021, and the season will end on May 22, 2022, when all matches will start at the same time.
This has been moved backwards, with the start date originally set for August 7, however the clubs wanted that date postponed for a week and their wish was granted at the shareholders’ meeting.
Thomas Tuchel has already revealed hopes for next season as he will take over his first pre-season of the Blues and manage his first full season in charge of West London clothing.
Earlier this month he said challenging the title next year: “I hope. It’s our job, nothing else is a job other than this. There is no time in football, although we want time in football so we want to be part of the transition, make the transition and while we do it, we want to win in games, that’s absolutely clear.
“For me, two teams are still the benchmark, Liverpool and Man City and we can’t close the gap. This is the target.”
