Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic makes a decision amid Liverpool-Man United

Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic has admitted he is thrilled to be playing at this year’s Japan Olympics for the US.

His decision comes amid speculation that his long-term future at Stamford Bridge could be in doubt as the former Borussia Dortmund player has found limited playing time under new boss Thomas Tuchel.

Pulisic has only started once in the Premier League since the German’s first game in England at home against the Wolves.

His only single appearance from the field was in a goalless draw against Leeds United last weekend.

The signing of £ 58 million in 2019 arrived in West London with high expectations, but so far he has been trying to find consistency in the Blues T-shirt.

However, he still catches the eye of his national side, and is currently on international duty with his American teammates.

Gregg Berhalter plays in Jamaica in a friendly match in Austria on Thursday night, a match in which Pulisic hopes to play.

Speaking ahead of the match, Pulisic admits that he has hopes of representing the United States at the Olympic Games held last week in July and the first week of August.

“The Olympics are of course a great honor to play and represent your country at the Olympics would be amazing,” he said, as reported by NBC Sports via the Evening Standard.

“Now I fully support the guys in qualifying. It’s something I’ve been thinking about and I wanted to play.

“Obviously I can’t control what exactly is going on and what’s best for me at the moment and the team at the time, I can’t say. But it’s something I’d love to play in.”

Pulisic’s place in Tokyo is far from guaranteed because the Americans are still qualifying for the tournament.
