President Muhammadu Buhari asked the Senate to confirm Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawu as significant chairman of the Commission on Economic and Financial Crime (EFCC)
In a letter to Senate President Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, the president said he had acted in accordance with paragraph 2 (3) of Part 1 of the CAP E1 of the 2004 EFCC Act.
Bawa, 40, is a trained EFCC investigator with extensive experience in investigating and prosecuting cases of advance payment fraud, official corruption, banking fraud, money laundering and other economic crimes.
He underwent several specialized trainings in different parts of the world, and was one of the pioneering EFCC cadet officers in 2005.
Bawa holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in international relations and diplomacy.
