British Prince Philip spends the seventh night in hospital

LONDON: Prince Philip, The 99-year-old husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth, spent the seventh night in hospital after being admitted as a precaution.
Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, entered Londonprivate hospital King Edward VII last Tuesday night after a doctor advised him to be admitted after feeling unwell.
Buckingham Palace said he was expected to stay in hospital for a few days for observation, and his 94-year-old wife was staying at Windsor Castle, her home west of London, where the couple was during the Covid lockout.
Both kingdoms received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and Duke’s disease is not linked to COVID. A royal source said that he was expected to stay in the hospital this week, and Philip was in good spirits.
Prince William, son of the heir Prince Charlessaid his grandfather on Monday, “OK, they’re watching him.”
Philip’s illness comes at an awkward time for the Queen and the monarchy after it was announced last week that William’s younger brother Prince Harry and his American wife Meghan would sever all their official royal ties.
Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, retired in March last year, and that rift was formalized on Friday, with the couple losing their precious royal patronage.
They moved in with their son Archie to Southern California to live a more independent life and escape the British media, and next month will give a “broad” interview to the American host of the chat show Oprah Winfrey.
The hospitalization of Philip, who is the Queen’s confidant during her 69-year reign and the patriarch of the family, deprives the monarch of his advice.
However, the prince took second place because he retired from public life in 2017, and many of his official roles were taken over by other family members.
