New maps

Four new maps headed towards Black Ops Cold War in season 2. That includes one new 6v6 map, a daily version of the Miami “strike,” a new grand team map, and one additional Gunfight map (although we really need two or three new ones).

Apocalypse (6v6) (Launch Week)

“Welcome to the base of the Lao jungle cartel in the heart of the Golden Triangle: Apocalypse. While it is said that Perseus’ forces are hiding key information in their stronghold in Laos, the CIA’s finest approach to the village, ready to extract all the evidence it can on the supply line of Nova 6 … and Adler’s residence.

“This small to medium-sized map was made for aggressive operators, directing the action under the shuttle buildings and through the temple fortress. Chase the enemy through the buildings and the temple, taking care not to be too distracted by the flash of gold being loaded into the trucks on the main road. “

Goals (Multi-Team) (In Season)

“Golova seems to be a traditional Russian village located within the picturesque Ural plains, but beneath its surface it hides a dark secret built in by its designer and creator Nikita Dragovich.

“The training ground for the expansion of the Number Program, Golova offers numerous combat opportunities near the city, from a massive church to rows of houses and an industrial park. The terrain by the staircase on which the city was built still provides some opportunities for long-term firefighting, but encourages a firmer game of CQB around its target areas. “

Mansion (2v2, 3v3) (In season)

“The action at Gunfight and Face Off will soon heat up with this addition of a map to the middle of the season.

Located in Havana, Cuba, at Hefe Castle (last seen in the End of the Line campaign), this small map takes place in both courtyards: the eastern one with two palm trees and a gazebo, and the western one with a statue sitting on top of a dysfunctional fountain . These open courtyards contrast with the central wrapped room with a small side hallway and open balcony that can serve as a risky position for power.

Expect the action to be frontal and frenetic, especially when the dead zone of the main hall enters the overtime. “

Miami Strike (6v6) (in season)

“Get up and shine, Miami … because soon the time will come for us to infiltrate Ocean Park Drive during the day.

“While the sun will shine from the colorful frescoes in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood, Miami Strike will focus the action on a smaller daily performance of the original map. Whether it’s a TDM game with white joints or a tense Battle of Hardpoint, the heat is always on the streets of Miami. “

New modes

Three new ways fall in Season 2.

Gun Game (free for all)

The classic Gun Game moves into multiplayer. In this mode, all players start with the same weapon, and every time you kill you get a new weapon and the one who goes through all the weapons first wins. It’s a lot of fun and definitely my favorite way to play a free game for everyone.

Hardpoint (Multi-team)

Okay, is Activision now talking to Fireteam as a Multi-Team? That seems to be the case. This new way of working is Hardpoint with a reversal: 10 four teams compete to keep Hardpoint. That sounds. . . somewhere between hectic and horrible. I doubt I will play most of this way in season 2.

Stock (6v6)

This is a hybrid mode of confirmed killing / Hardpoint. You collect dog tags from fallen opponents, but don’t score points until you take them to a rotating stockpile. We have seen this way of working many times already. It can be super fun – or just ridiculously frustrating. When you carry a bunch of labels and kill yourself just before you lay them down. . . it’s not fun.

New weapons and goodies

A bunch of new weapons and a new match result are on the way in season 2. We get new weapons, a crossbow and new Melese weapons, although not at the very beginning of the season.

The first two of them will be free in Battle Pass season 2. You can earn the rest by completing challenges or buying drafts at the Item Store.

HEADLAMP 83: Launch Week

This fully automated rifle is a heavyweight category among peers because it has one of the fastest fire rates in its class and an outstanding effective range for solid damage. In the hands of a capable operator, FARA 83 can be a real force in crushing the opposition.

“Get FARA 83 for free to use in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone on Tier 15 Battle Pass season two, just by playing the game.”

LC10: SMG (Launch Sunday)

The well-rounded fully automatic machine gun, the LC10, gives CQB operators the ability to provide medium-range combat on a smaller, swivel weapon platform, thanks to its solid precision and extended effective range of damage. Although its damage per bullet is at the lower end of the SMG spectrum, its above-average fire rate and lower rebound can prove a deadly combination.

“Get the LC10 for free for use in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone on the Tier 31 Battle Pass of the second season, just by playing the game.”

E-tool: Melee (in season)

“Place the enemy six feet below the E-tool, a military-style triple shovel commonly used to dig a defensive combat position. Recently modernized for the wars of the late 20sth century, the E-tool is considered a standard edition for soldiers around the world because of its usefulness. But as a secondary weapon it is just as effective as an auxiliary weapon in extreme proximity. “

R1 Shadowhunter: Special (season)

“The simple and light design of this crossbow allows excellent handling and quieter removal. If the Operator does not like his iron sights, he can still accurately shoot from the hips nearby or choose to attach one of several optics. Happy hunting. “

ZRG 20mm: Sniper (in season)

“Designed for sharp shooters who need power to eliminate targets at extremely long ranges, this sniper rifle has a higher speed than any other weapon in its class, as well as the ability to eliminate operators with a single shot to the head, chest or shoulders in exchange for slower speed fire. Its reload speeds are among the fastest in the category, allowing snipers to quickly change magazines when faced with multiple enemy forces. “

In addition, we get two new vehicles, a Sedan and a Light Truck, plus a Death Machine Scorestreak in which players are equipped with a powerful minigun (which also comes in zombie mode).

Season 2 will also include a Battle Pass that extends to both The Cold War i Warzone. Contains new Operator and Operator skins, new (free) weapons and more. Here is the trailer:

Finally, Players will now be able to raise their Prestige all the way to 11. Here’s how it works:

Level 50: Skip the new Prestige, emblem, Prestige key, weapon design and battle passage

Level 100: Skip the new Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key and Battle Pass level

Level 150: Skip the new Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key and Battle Pass level

Level 190: All seasonal challenges are available

Level 200: New Prestige, emblem, Prestige key, battle passage level skipping, main Prestige calling card

Level 250-1000: New Prestige key at every 50 levels

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 starts on Wednesday at 23:00 PT / Thursday 02:00 ET.
