Former President Goodluck Jonathan stressed the importance of love as a global battle to overcome the coronavirus pandemic.

In his Christmas message on Friday, he appealed to people to soak up the spirit of the yuletide season to heal everything that has been broken in various countries around the world.

Jonathan noted that December 25 in the calendar of Christianity marked the day of the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

According to him, it is a celebration that connects the world with love, selflessness, sacrifice and solidarity – virtues that Christ clearly spread.

The former president believes that Jesus ’message of salvation speaks to the essence of both spiritual deliverance and earthly redemption.

He described it as a constant reminder that humanity would have a more peaceful existence if the people of the world were to recommit themselves to friendship, kindness, and compassion.

Jonathan said people went through a lot in 2020, especially moving through the traps of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

He wished Christmas to Nigerians and others around the world.

Christmas is a day in the calendar of Christianity that marks the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It is a commemoration that connects the world with love, selflessness, sacrifice and solidarity; what are the virtues that Christ unequivocally propagated.

Jesus’ message of salvation speaks of the essence of both spiritual deliverance and earthly redemption.

It is a constant reminder that humanity will have a more peaceful existence if the people of the world recommit themselves to friendship, kindness and compassion.

People went through so much in 2020, including navigating the traps of the deadly Covid pandemic19.

At Christmas, the world needs love. It is a spirit that we must absorb to heal everything that is broken in our world.
