Recent reports have revealed that ASUS is running on ZenFone 8 series smartphones. The line is expected to include three models, and the base model could be called the ZenFone 8 Mini. This phone has now seemingly been TÜV SÜD certified, revealing its fast charging capabilities.
There is widespread speculation that the model name ASUS_ZS590KS / ASUS_I006D and the SAKE code name belong to the ZenFone 8 Mini. Screenshot of the TUV list shared by advisor Sudhanshu Ambhore reveals that ASUS_I006D / DA is equipped with support for fast charging of 30 W. Unfortunately, the list has no other information about its specifications.
Past leaks have revealed that the ASUS ZenFone 8 Mini could have a 5.92-inch OLED screen that will offer not only Full HD + resolution, but also a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It will be the flagship device powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. It is therefore expected to arrive as the most compact phone with the SD888 chip.
It is unclear whether the ZenFone 8 Mini will have a foldable camera setting like the ZenFone 7 series. However, the device is expected to have a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 camera and a new Sony IMX663 lens on the back. Can be supplied with Cirrus CS35L45 amplifier. There is no word on the battery capacity of the ZenFone 8 Mini.
The ZenFone 8 model (model name: ASUS_ZS672KS / ASUS_I004D, code name: PICASSO) is expected to arrive with a 6.67-inch OLED panel with support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz, Pixelworks i6 visual processor, Snapdragon 888 chipset and front camera 24 megapixels. It will probably have the same 64 megapixel triple camera system (Sony IMX686) + 12.2 megapixels (Sony IMX363) + 8 megapixel telephoto (OmniVision) available on last year’s ZenFone 7.
It is also said that the ZenFone 8 family includes another model with ASUS_ZS675KW / ASUS_I007D model name and VODKA code name. It is expected to arrive with a 6.7-inch screen and a Snapdragon 888 SoC.
