Apple is preparing to remove more applications from the Chinese App Store Pocket Gamer.biz

Apple is ready to launch thousands of games from its Chinese App Store.

According to The Wall Street Journal, via GamesIndustry.biz, Chinese application developers must submit proof of government permission by December 31st. Otherwise they will be shredded from the App Store.

Earlier this year, Apple revealed that it would be forced to remove any game or application from its storefront that does not have the International Standard Book Number (ISBN).

Back in July, in just one week, more than 2,500 applications were removed after Apple changed its approach to restrictions in China. Moreover, games without ISBNs were to be cleared on August 1st.

Decisions, decisions

However, Apple does not always agree when government bodies ask for the removal of applications.

“Apple carefully studies these requests whenever we receive them and we often oppose and disagree with them,” Apple said.

“While the final decisions are sometimes against our wishes, we believe it is best to provide a service to our customers when we stay in the country by giving them access to products that promote self-expression while protecting world-class privacy.”
