Alfonso Ribeiro appreciates a TV show that likes to be fresh.
Back in August 2020, the news announced it Will SmithWestbrook Studios and Universal TV produced a new version The The fresh prince of Bel-Air.
In an exclusive interview for E! News’ Justin Sylvester for Just a sip, Alfonso shared his thoughts on the project. For starters, he’s not the one who calls it a “restart”.
“I like to call it a renaming,” he explained. “Sometimes we throw a lot of things into one word, one concept. A restart would take the real show and the characters and bring them back. This is a completely different show.”
Alfonso continued, “It’s not even based on a show. It’s based on a theme song. It’s a whole other thing. It’s a drama. It’s not a comedy. I have nothing to do with it, so I don’t really know anything more … But Actually it I appreciate even more than the restart. Let’s take the concept and turn it into another show. “
