People’s Democratic Party CANDIDATE in the last election for governor in the state of Ondo, Eyitayo Jegede said that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and the All Progressive Congress are nervous about losing at the election tribunal
Jegede, who spoke in Akure at the inauguration of the party’s secretariat, was demolished during the last #EndSARS protest in the country.
The new Party Secretariat was independently built by one of the contenders for the party governorship, Godday Erewa.
Jegede expressed confidence that he would become governor of the state.
He said that “all the evidence before the tribunal for the election petition was enough to take the government of the Congress of all progressives out of the government of the Alagbaka government.”
He added that the governor and his APC party were already upset about the loss in court.
Jegede said that “the APC in the state is nervous and we will take it over soon”
He asked party members to think first about what they can do for the party, not just what they can benefit from.
The gubernatorial candidate praised Erew for a good gesture and the party chairman for good leadership.
The party’s state chairman, Hon Fatai Adams, accused members of the state “of being more committed and loyal to the party, stating that the benefits members will derive from the party will henceforth depend on their contribution to the party.
Adams said “this is the first time in the history of politics in Nigeria that an individual will build a party secretariat.
“Whenever there is something to share or schedule appointments, the contributions of potential beneficiaries are taken into account.
Also speaking, the landlord of the house before it was built, Mr. Dapo Fakorede, described Erew as God sent to the party, noting that he never believed that the renewal of the Secretariat would be possible again and very soon.
Fakorede said that “When the building was leveled, the chairman met with me and assured me that it would be renovated. I never believed because of the economic situation and the fact that the party was not in power.
He added that “today’s event is unique and special. I commend the leadership qualities of the Chairman and other members of the State Working Committee.
The building was inaugurated by the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, represented by the National Vice President of the PDP Transitional Committee, Chief Dayo Ogungbenro.
