Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has turned down the opportunity to play in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the US because he believes he can still pull his weight in Europe.
Ahmed Musa, 28, is a free agent after Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr recently released him on a half-year contract.
SCORENigeria has learned that Musa has been bombarded with offers from around the world because of his profile.
One such offer was MLS, but he turned it down saying he would rather play in Europe.
“The MLS offer was good, but he said he would rather wait for something from Europe,” a close source of the players reported.
He is now just five caps away from reaching one century of playing for the Super Eagles.
The winger is linked to several Premier League clubs, as well as Turkish giant Galatasaray.
Musa has previously played in the Netherlands, Russia and in the Premier League in England with Leicester City.
