Abandoned for PS5 is not a secret game by Hideo Kojima

Kojima Productions is making a new game, but it’s not abandoned for the PlayStation 5. Earlier today, Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled an announcement for Abandoned, a horror project by developer Blue Box Games. But that trailer and flexible developer history are weird enough to make some people speculate that Abandoned is secretly the next game by Metal Gear Solid Hide creator Kojime. That is not the case.

One of the reasons why people believe it was Abandoned from Who is that it’s hard to find a lot of information about Blue Box games. But that’s not because it’s a corporation for Kojima Productions. Instead, Blue Box is simply a small studio that has never released a large console before.

The Blue Box website is dead. He has a game in Early Access on Steam that he stopped updating. He has another similar game he tried to run on Steam’s now inactive Greenlight program.

I see, though. Maybe Kojima played long-con. And he was behind this studio the whole time. He just waited a moment to strike, and that time had come.

But the biggest proof I have that Abandoned is not a Kojima joint is that Kojima is negotiating with Microsoft to release its next game, according to a source familiar with it. And yes, that statue on Phil Spencer’s shelf spoke of a potential deal with the legendary developer. I can’t confirm if Xbox has yet concluded the deal, but as far as I understand, Kojima is the focus of Microsoft’s plan to increase Japanese talent.

So you’ll have to enjoy Kojima’s abandoned absent marketing stunts.
