THREE suspects are already in police custody in Benin City for allegedly robbing a shopkeeper on the road to Evbuosa near Obozogbe in the local government of Orhionmwon in the state of Edo, after which she was raped and strangled to death.

It was gathered that the suspects confiscated a sum of N30,000 before dragging her to a nearby bush, where they in turn raped her and later left her with life-threatening injuries.

At the time of submitting this report, the dead woman had been deposited in the morgue, but no one came out to identify her or claim ownership.

A source in the village said that the owner of the T-shirt was later identified as Destiny Osa, who was then arrested by the local population and handed over to people from the Ugo Police Department, who in turn handed him over to people from the Anti-Abduction and Cyber ​​Crime Unit further investigations.

The said Destiny Osa later told police that at around 7 a.m. they attacked, robbed, raped and killed a woman in the bushes and took police to arrest two other gang members named Etim Zion and Samuel Jeremiah. from the state of Akwa Ibom, but a resident of the area.

The first suspect Osa later took the police and another investigation team to the bushes where the woman was raped.

When contacted, Edo State Police Public Relations Officer Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, said no one came for the dealer’s body, but advised someone whose family member he has been with since Saturday, December 19, 2020 went to Evbuos and did not return home to contact the Edo State Department’s Anti-Abduction / Cybercrime Office in Benin, ensuring that the three suspects would be indicted in court for prosecution.
