A woman beats, burns her wife to death in Niger

The woman, identified as Fatima Aliya, was beaten and burned to death by her husband’s first wife weeks after the wedding.

It is said that Amina Aliya’s first wife beat her husband before locking her in the house and setting her on fire.

According to a Daily Trust report, the incident happened on Tuesday in Minna, the capital of the state of Niger.

It was gathered that Fatima, before her wedding, resided in the Sabuwar Unguwa area in the metropolis of Katsina.

A family source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the two women did not live in the same house.

He said the first wife went to the second woman’s house to release the terror.

“They didn’t live in the same house, but the first wife went to her house which is not far from her and beat her before locking her in the room she set on fire,” he said.

The Niger State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying the case was reported to the command by one Bello Lawal.

State Public Relations Officer Wasiu Abiodun said, “On Tuesday, a Bello Lawal from Gwari Motors, Bosso Road, Minna reported on behalf of an Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi, 45, from the street Mandela, Sauka Kahuta, that one Fati Aliyu, his second wife and from the same address was found lying dead in a pool of blood in her salon with a burnt part of the body.

“As soon as the information was received, the team went into action and arrested one Amina Aliya, 24 years old, from the same address, the elder and the wife of the deceased, whom he allegedly said beat the deceased, and the suspect’s sister.

“The exhibit used was found during the beginning of the investigation. The suspect will be indicted in court as soon as the investigation is completed. “
