A memory I will keep forever: Mayank remembers the first test in MCG: The Tribune India

Melbourne, December 25th

Ahead of the second test against Australia, Indian striker Mayank Agarwal on Friday recalled his test debut and said he would always guard that moment of his life.

Mayank had his test debut against Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 26, 2018. He played 76 and 42 shots in his first test match which India won with 137 runs.

Going to Twitter the kick-off wrote: “12/26/2018: For a child, who has always nurtured dreams of representing his country, I had a lot of emotions in my mind after I got the test cap. The memory of going to the sticks at MCG is not yet “A memory I will keep forever!”

Exactly after two years, Mayank is ready to play on the same field in another boxing test against Australia.

Earlier in the day, India named its XI game for the second test. The guests made four changes as Shubman Gill entered for Prithvi Shawa, Ravindra Jadeja for Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant for Wriddhiman Saha and Mohammed Siraj for Mohammad Shami.

Gill and Siraj should make their debut in the red ball game.

Virat Kohli will miss the rest of the series because BCCI granted him paternity to be with his wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their first child.

In Kohli’s absence, Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Indian side.

India is 1-0 behind in a series of four matches after a humiliating eight-goal defeat at the pink ball in Adelaide. ANI
