The coronavirus continues to grow rapidly across India and the world. With global deaths crossing the 3 million mark, the COVID-19 pandemic is nowhere near its end.
To date, with high levels of seropositivity, experts believe that there is a significant population that may have already been infected with the virus in one way or another, without actually having a positive test for viral infection. There could also be many who may have become infected before COVID-19 was actually declared a pandemic and brought the world to a complete standstill.
Many also believe that although the infection is increasingly symptomatic, with unusual signs and severe complications, many cases in the last year, at the height of the pandemic’s spread, have been asymptomatic. These people may also have a certain level of natural immunity against the virus.
