Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest

Albania made its Eurovision debut in 2004 and has participated every year since. Anjeza Shahini was the first to wave the country’s flag at the competition with her song ‘The Image of You’. She finished in 7th place with 106 points.

During the year, Albania advanced to the finals eight times. So far their best result is 5th place Rone Nishliu achieved in Baku in 2012 with her cult ballad ‘Suus’.

Albania should be represented by Arilena Ara in 2020, with her song ‘Fall With the Sky’. Last December, she controversially won Festivals and Kenges 58 with “Shaj”, which translated for competition. He was supposed to participate in the second semifinal of the competition in 2020 before the competition was canceled.
